Drawings based upon a dream of birthing a basilica

This watercolor drawing results from a dream involving giving birth to a basilica (the bluefish field) and listening quietly to the lies and stories eating out the core of a religion. The first, the Basilica of San Clemente al Laterano has tentacles reaching outwards. Another birth of a basilica drawing, refers to imagined political constructs (the built elements) and interlocked gold and silver spheres (blobs) of influence. The third of ten in the birth of a basilica series. In this one, St. Peter's Basilica, the strength and scale of the building and inner politics keep intrigue locked into the naive, rendered in gold and silver. A few tiny wooden signals penetrate the basilica (the blue field).
